Hello all - my name is Amy Carpenter and I am the President of Kentuckiana Pug Rescue. We received the following email from the Dearborn County (Indiana) shelter today - this is near Cincinatti OH -
"Hello, I am emailing from the Dearborn County Animal Shelter in Aurora, Indiana. We hope you can help save an 11 month old puggle, who is in danger of being euthanized. Zippy is a young, highly energetic , neutered male that did not pass our temperament test due to his high energy level. He has never shown any signs of aggression. The only thing he needs is obedience training. Due to our overcrowded shelter our Animal Control Board insists that we put down any dog that doesnąt pass the temperament test. We do not want to euthanize a puppy. Can you help Zippy? Please contact us if there is anything you can do. Thank you. " We cannot take this puppy into our rescue - we are already full to bursting with pugs and can no longer accept mixes, and are almost at the point of no longer accepting any dogs, mix or purebred. My heart is broken that we cannot help this poor little fellow - no puppy should be euthanized just because he is overly energetic. Is there anyone out there who can help this little guy? PLEASE contact the shelter if you can!!! Thanks - Amy |
